An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a well-established, employee-owned engineering consultancy based in Leeds. The business is a respected multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in Civil, Structural and Geoenvironmental Engineering, delivering high-quality technical solutions across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Geoenvironmental Engineer with 2 years experience to support the delivery of site investigation projects and assist with the supervision of remedial works and earthworks across the UK.
The Role
As a Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting site investigation and environmental assessment projects while working closely with both the infrastructure and structural engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing desk studies and factual/interpretative ground investigation reports
- Logging and sampling soil and rock
- Carrying out ground gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling
- Supervising ground investigation works and site operations
- Supporting the delivery of projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment
- Liaising with subcontractors and project teams
- Assisting the civil and structural engineering teams with technical support
About You
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 2 years relevant post-graduate experience within a consultancy or ground investigation contractor
- A Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or similar is desirable
- Working towards Chartered status with the Geological Society, CIWEM, CIEH or a similar professional body
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing technical reports
- Well organised with strong time management skills
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home
- Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
