An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a leading, employee-owned multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Leeds. Operating at the forefront of the built environment, the business delivers high-quality Civil, Structural and Geoenvironmental Engineering services across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer with 5-10 years experience to support and lead project delivery nationwide.
The Role
As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will take a lead role in delivering geoenvironmental projects, providing technical expertise and supporting both infrastructure and structural engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the production of Phase I & II geoenvironmental reports
- Designing and managing ground investigation projects
- Overseeing site works, including logging of soil and rock
- Developing remediation strategies and options appraisals
- Managing project budgets, programmes and subcontractors
- Liaising with clients, regulators and stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Ensuring all work meets health, safety and environmental standards
About You
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or similar
- 5+ years post-graduate experience in a consultancy or contractor environment
- Working towards or achieved Chartered status (Geological Society, CIWEM, CIEH or similar)
- Strong knowledge of contaminated land, geotechnical engineering and site investigations
- Experience with ground investigation design and reporting
- Understanding of DQRA assessments (desirable)
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel/work away
