The predicted salary is between 36000 - 48000 £ per year.
We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for international positions, with the use of both right and left-hand drive vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and maintain heavy goods vehicles (HGV).
- Transport goods across international borders, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Keep detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all local and international traffic regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members.
- Operate in both national and international deliveries.
- Load and unload cargo, including Curtainsided transport, while securing loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Check relevant transit documents/ Customs documentation.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Must hold a valid HGV1 licence, Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Previous 1 year's experience in long-distance or international driving is required.
- Good geographical knowledge of UK and Europe.
- Excellent knowledge of driver’s hours rules and regulations.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to apply manual handling techniques.
- Must be flexible to work weekends & Bank holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to varying schedules.
Licence:
- Class 1 HGV (Some experience in driving left-hand drive vehicles is advantageous).
- Valid Passport.
- Valid Settle Status/working Visa if non-UK Resident.
Working days:
- Guaranteed 5 days per week + overtime is required/needed.
- Opportunity to do overtime within your legal driving limits (Weekends away).
