Role The Senior Privacy Specialist will be part of Degreed’s privacy team and involved in managing our organization\’s privacy and AI compliance programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act.
Key Skills
- Proven experience as a Privacy Specialist, Data Protection Officer or a similar role, with a strong understanding of GDPR and mature privacy programs (3-5 years).
- Fluent English is required, knowledge of French, German or Portuguese are an advantage.
- Recognized privacy or AI governance certifications (e.g. IAPP, other national associations) are an advantage.
- Bachelor\’s degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable, but not required.
- Experience in implementing ISO frameworks (ISO 27001 or ISO 42001) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Knowledge of applicable AI regulations/frameworks or a willingness to quickly upskill.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inform, advise on and monitor compliance with existing and developing privacy and AI regulations applicable to Degreed, with a focus on GDPR and the EU AI Act.
- Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and privacy by design.
- Oversee the development and implementation of AI systems, ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act.
- Review and negotiate contractual terms related to privacy and AI, including DPAs or AI addendums.
- Support the DPO in performing all relevant DPO tasks.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in data protection and AI laws and regulations, and advise the organization on necessary adjustments.
Compensation
The total pay range for this role is £100,000 – £120,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are based on factors including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
