A friendly and well-established independent medical communications agency based in Oxford is looking for a talented Account Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality medical communications projects for pharmaceutical clients, managing multiple work-streams and building strong relationships with both clients and internal teams.
The RoleAs an Account Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects from brief through to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, on brief, and within budget. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams including scientific, creative and digital colleagues, while maintaining strong day-to-day relationships with clients.
You’ll also support junior team members, contribute to new business opportunities, and help ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure clear briefs are received from clients and effectively communicated to internal teams
- Manage projects to ensure delivery on brief, within scope and within budget
- Coordinate and manage multiple projects of varying complexity
- Build strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
- Oversee and support junior colleagues on materials and project delivery
- Brief and review freelance design and digital work to ensure client-ready output
- Ensure adherence to compliance procedures, GDPR and pharmaceutical codes of practice (e.g. ABPI)
- Lead client calls and maintain project status updates, schedules and meeting summaries
- Support with budget management, forecasting and financial tracking
- Ensure projects are reconciled and invoiced accurately and on time
- Contribute to new business pitches, proposals and research
- Support and mentor junior team members, including AEs and graduate AEs
- Contribute to internal brainstorms and identify opportunities for organic client growth
- 2–3+ years’ experience in an account management role within medical communications
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused
- Confident managing client relationships
- Comfortable working across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ideally educated to degree level (a scientific degree such as BSc is advantageous)
