Project Manager – Medical Affairs Communications

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the execution of medical affairs communications projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing a variety of evidence-based medical affairs initiatives aligned with global strategies. This role requires excellent coordination skills to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality publications and materials while adhering to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of medical affairs projects, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, patient support programs, advisory boards, and marketing material development.
- Lead cross-functional and departmental projects, driving collaboration, strategic planning, and efficient execution to achieve business goals.
- Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless project delivery.
- Ensure clear and effective communication across all teams to support alignment and drive successful outcomes.
- Maintain strict compliance with ABPI Code and industry regulations, ensuring ethical standards and integrity in all communications.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while maintaining high-quality outputs.
- Identify potential risks in pharmaceutical projects and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project progression.
- Ensure all projects and materials meet rigorous quality standards and adhere to medical, legal, and regulatory approval processes.
- Oversee project timelines, ensuring deadlines—particularly those related to medical congresses—are met.
- Regularly engage with team members to monitor progress, address challenges, and keep projects on track.
- Manage invoice approvals and ensure financial accountability within project scopes.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in medical affairs project management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical communications industry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within scope, meeting quality and compliance expectations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications.
- Knowledge of ABPI Code and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
