A well-established, UK-wide multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Façades Engineer to join its newly launched Façades Division. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a growing specialist team within a respected consultancy known for delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions across the built environment.
With a strong pipeline of façade remediation and new-build envelope projects, the successful candidate will play a key role in technical delivery, supporting major schemes across a variety of sectors.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist division, the Structural Façades Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, assessment, and coordination of façade systems, including both refurbishment and new-build developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Structural design and analysis of façade and cladding systems
- Supporting project teams through feasibility, design, and construction stages
- Coordinating with internal teams, architects, and contractors to deliver compliant and buildable solutions
- Ensuring all design work meets relevant codes, fire safety, and regulatory requirements
- Producing technical reports, specifications, and calculations
- Contributing to the growth and development of the façades division
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-qualified Structural or Civil Engineer (BEng/MEng)
- Proven experience in facade engineering, including cladding, curtain walling, or rainscreen systems
- Sound knowledge of relevant design codes, materials, and industry best practice
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks including Building Safety Act and BSR requirements
- Proficient in structural analysis software and design tools
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with a collaborative working approach
