Pre-construction Manager – Joinery and Interior Fit-Out

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a specialist subcontractor delivering prestigious commercial fit-out contracts across London. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead design delivery for high-profile projects, working closely with a variety of top-tier main contractors.
About the Role:
You’ll be responsible for managing the full design process on multiple fast-paced projects, with a focus on commercial joinery, washrooms, and interior fit-out. From managing external designers to ensuring technical accuracy and supporting project delivery, you\'ll be a key part of driving design excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process from concept to completion across multiple live projects.
- Oversee procurement
- Project programming
- Manage and coordinate external design consultants to ensure timely and accurate output.
- Liaise closely with clients, architects, and internal teams to maintain design intent.
- Review technical drawings and ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards.
- Support project and site teams by resolving design-related issues promptly.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and design efficiency.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager in commercial joinery, washroom systems, or interior fit-out.
- Ability to run multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing, detailing, and construction coordination.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
