A respected and growing specialist façade contractor is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Façade Designer to join its collaborative and high-performing team. With live and upcoming works on HS2, aviation hubs, and data centre projects — all delivered for Tier 1 main contractors — this role is suited to someone who thrives on technical challenge and precision.

The Role
The Senior Façade Designer will take ownership of technical detailing and design coordination across complex building envelopes. Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, and clients, this person will lead the development of design packages, drive interface resolution, and ensure compliance with all specification, safety, and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and detailing of curtain walling, cladding, and glazing systems
- Manage the full design lifecycle from concept to construction issue
- Coordinate internal and external design teams, consultants, and suppliers
- Produce and review GA drawings, fabrication details, and technical submittals
- Attend design and site meetings as needed to support project progress
- Ensure designs meet relevant British Standards, CWCT, and project-specific performance criteria (fire, thermal, acoustic, etc.)
- Support value engineering, buildability reviews, and client engagement
- Assist in developing junior team members where appropriate
Requirements
- 5–10+ years’ experience in façade design (curtain walling/cladding sector)
- Strong detailing ability using AutoCAD; Revit or Inventor experience desirable
- Familiar with stick, unitised, and rainscreen systems
- Confident in liaising with structural/fire/acoustic consultants
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Able to manage own workload independently and contribute in a team setting
- Experience on Tier 1 or major infrastructure projects highly desirable
Salary / Package
