This is a well-established mid-tier main contractor with a £100m turnover and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across London and the Home Counties. Over the past 18 years, the business has grown steadily through repeat business and client referrals, building long-standing relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

The company operates primarily within the residential and commercial sectors, delivering a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Technical Services Manager (M&E) to support and lead the M&E delivery across multiple projects.

The Technical Services Manager (M&E) will be responsible for the management and coordination of all mechanical and electrical services across a portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to £25m. Working closely with the senior leadership, commercial, and site delivery teams, the role will span from pre-construction through to final handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing M&E technical delivery across multiple residential and commercial projects
  • Leading M&E design development and coordination from pre-construction stage
  • Managing consultants and specialist M&E subcontractors
  • Reviewing and approving technical submissions, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with building regulations, statutory requirements, and fire safety standards
  • Supporting site teams with technical input, buildability reviews, and problem-solving
  • Coordinating commissioning, testing, and handover processes including O&M manuals
  • Working closely with commercial teams to manage scope, value engineering, and risk

The successful candidate will come from a main contractor background with proven experience managing M&E packages on new build and refurbishment schemes. They will be technically competent, organised, and comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, M&E Manager, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems within residential and commercial developments
  • Experience managing design development and subcontractor coordination
  • Solid understanding of building regulations and statutory compliance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project, commercial, and site teams
  • Confident communicator with strong client- and consultant-facing skills
  • Based within a commutable distance of Central London, with flexibility to travel to sites
