I’m currently working with a growing and well-established façade contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Façade Glazing Designer to support their expanding design team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work on a range of technically challenging façade and glazing projects across the UK.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design and detailing of façade and glazing systems, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs are technically compliant, buildable and delivered in line with project requirements. Projects will typically include curtain walling, windows, doors and bespoke glazing systems across commercial and high-end residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed façade and glazing designs using AutoCAD (and other relevant software)
- Develop technical drawings, fabrication details and installation details
- Work closely with structural engineers and project teams to ensure design compliance
- Review project specifications and architectural drawings
- Coordinate with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout the design process
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and performance requirements
- Support value engineering and design optimisation where required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Façade or Glazing Designer
- Strong knowledge of curtain walling, window and door systems
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit or other design software beneficial)
- Good understanding of façade performance requirements and regulations
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
