As part of their continued growth in the façade and external envelope sector, they are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join the team and lead design coordination across complex, high-value projects.

The Design Manager will take ownership of the design and technical delivery process on façade remediation and recladding schemes ranging from £5m to £15m, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, including BSR. The role will report to the Contracts Manager and work closely with internal teams, consultants, and the supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
  • Coordinating between consultants, façade specialists, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ensuring design compliance with BSR regulations, fire safety guidance, and project specifications
  • Reviewing drawings, technical submissions, and identifying coordination issues
  • Managing design deliverables in line with project programme and delivery milestones
  • Supporting procurement by coordinating technical input and subcontractor packages
  • Leading design workshops and attending client and consultant meetings

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Design Manager (or Senior Design Coordinator stepping up)
  • Strong understanding of façade systems, fire performance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working on remediation or recladding projects is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage complex design coordination across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with BSR regulations and Building Safety Act requirements
  • Based within commuting distance of Central London
