Our delivery drivers are responsible for the safe, timely and professional delivery of customer orders from our Dartford site. As a key operational role within the Transport team, the driver ensures that goods are delivered in accordance with company standards and customer expectations, while maintaining compliance with road safety regulations and internal procedures. This role requires a high level of personal responsibility, reliability, and customer focus. Drivers are expected to build strong relationships with customers, becoming a trusted and consistent point of contact. By managing a dedicated route or cluster of routes, the driver contributes to service continuity, customer satisfaction, and the overall reputation of Albion Fine Foods.
Shifts: 5 days a week, including weekends, 5am start
Salary: £41,167 per annum
Time Off: 30 days holiday + 22 additional days off (or trade them in for extra pay!)
What You'll Be Doing:
- Complete mandatory vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport management team.
- Keep up to date with and abide by UK Tacho laws.
- Maintain a clean and fuelled vehicle, ready for the following day’s operation.
- Unload customer orders at site, ensuring delivery notes are followed accurately.
- Collect orders from customers and suppliers as required by the Purchasing team.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver orders in a polite, professional, and customer-focused manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across your route.
- Represent Albion positively and consistently as the trusted face of the business.
Important License Requirements:
Due to insurance restrictions the job holder must hold a valid, full UK driving licence with no serious endorsements and no more than 6 penalty points within the last 5 years. We are unable to accept any of the following offence codes on their licence within the last five years: DR – Drink or drug driving, IN – Insurance offences, TT99 – Totting up points, CD – Careless driving, DD – Dangerous driving, UT – Theft or unauthorised vehicle use, MR – Miscellaneous driving offences, BA – Driving while disqualified, DG – Dangerous goods, LC30–LC50 – Licence offences, MS50–MS90 – Miscellaneous serious offences.
