Title: Senior Claims Handler (Industrial Disease)
Location: UK (100% remote)
Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Handler (Industrial Disease) to join a well-established claims operation in a fully remote capacity. This role combines technical claims handling with senior-level support to the Team Leader, contributing to performance, quality and service delivery across the team.
Role Overview
You will support the day-to-day operation of the claims team, helping to drive productivity, compliance, and customer outcomes. Acting as a role model, you will support coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high technical and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Team Leader in managing client relationships and ensuring delivery against SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards
- Assist in the creation and use of quantitative and qualitative MI to monitor and improve team performance
- Contribute to operational planning and workload management to ensure productivity targets are achieved
- Act as a role model by demonstrating strong customer focus and professional standards
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements
- Monitor call quality and customer feedback to enhance the customer journey
- Support coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing across the team, including new starters
- Assist with internal audit processes and continuous improvement activity
- Participate in projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience handling Industrial Disease insurance claims
- Strong knowledge of the insurance market and core insurance principles
- Excellent understanding of standard policy terms and market variations
- Good working knowledge of FSA regulations and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
- Experience working to client SLAs, productivity, and quality standards
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a solutions-focused approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Strong influencing skills and a proactive, professional approach
