An exciting opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to join a leading organisation within the insurance industry, managing major and complex commercial property claims across the UK. This role focuses on providing technical surveying expertise to support complex losses such as large-scale fire, flood, and catastrophic events. You’ll work closely with loss adjusters, insurers, and contractors to deliver accurate assessments and factual reports that support high-value claim resolutions. The position is fully remote, with national coverage and occasional regional travel or overnight stays when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and report on major and complex loss incidents on behalf of insurers.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess damage, gather evidence, and identify reinstatement requirements.
  • Produce detailed factual reports and cost assessments within agreed SLA timelines.
  • Liaise with local authorities, building control, emergency services, and legal teams when required.
  • Collaborate with loss adjusters and contractors to agree scopes of work, repair methods, and settlement options.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations, technical standards, and safety protocols.
  • Provide professional advice and recommendations to insurers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent communication and service delivery throughout the claim lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Surveyor (MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent).
  • Strong background in insurance-related surveying or building reinstatement of damaged properties.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building construction and regulations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of structural repair methods, cost valuation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient with MS Office and confident adopting new digital tools and technology.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits as required.
