We are working with a growing and well-backed Managing General Agent (MGA) that is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to join its expanding UK team. This MGA specialises in delivering delegated underwriting solutions to carriers and capacity providers. Our client is investing heavily in its underwriting operations, portfolio management, and technology capabilities to better support insurer partners and broker relationships. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape the pre-sales and technical function within a modern, forward-thinking MGA.
The Role
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in supporting insurer and MGU partnerships by translating underwriting and operational requirements into practical system solutions. You will work closely with Underwriting and Product teams to support new capacity discussions, onboarding processes, and platform development. You’ll help build and refine the frameworks, materials, and processes that support the MGA’s continued growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Translate underwriting workflows into system configurations (quoting, rating, endorsements, portfolio tracking)
- Develop onboarding documentation, configuration templates, and example rating structures
- Help improve (discovery, solution design, UAT)
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to address operational gaps and system enhancements
- Provide structured instructions to Implementation and Operations teams
What Our Client Looking For
- 6–10+ years in Solutions Engineering, or Insurance Technical Consulting
- Strong understanding of underwriting operations within MGAs, MGUs, or carriers
- Hands-on experience with rating, quoting, policy administration, or portfolio management systems
- Experience supporting insurer partnerships or delegated authority models
- Ability to communicate technical and commercial value to both underwriting teams and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable designing practical system solutions
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and SQL preferred
- Comfortable with up to 30% travel
