We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Handler (EL/PL) to join a high-performing claims function in a fully remote role. This position combines technical claims handling expertise with senior-level operational support, working closely with the Team Leader to ensure high standards of service delivery, compliance, and performance.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in managing complex Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims while supporting the day-to-day running of the team. Acting as a role model, you will help drive productivity, quality, and customer outcomes, while supporting coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of Liability and Public Liability claims in line with policy terms, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support the Team Leader in managing client relationships and ensuring delivery against SLAs, KPIs, and quality measures.
- Assist in the creation and use of quantitative and qualitative MI to monitor team performance.
- Contribute to operational planning and effective workload management to meet productivity targets.
- Act as a role model, promoting best practice, strong customer focus, and professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
- Monitor call quality and customer feedback to enhance the customer journey.
- Support coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing across the team, including new starters.
- Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in projects and operational initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience handling Employers' Liability and/or Public Liability claims.
- Strong understanding of the UK insurance market and core insurance principles.
- Excellent knowledge of policy wordings, coverage interpretation, and liability decision-making.
- Good working knowledge of FCA regulations and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
- Experience working to client SLAs, productivity, and quality standards.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Confident influencing skills and a proactive, professional approach.
Additional Information:
Occasional travel to other UK offices may be required.
