We are working with a well-backed and fast-growing Managing General Agent (MGA) that is hiring a Technical Program Manager to join its UK team. As part of its continued growth, the business is investing heavily in its underwriting operations, systems infrastructure, and portfolio management capabilities. This is an opportunity to join at a key stage of growth and play a central role in delivering and improving large-scale underwriting and system implementation programmes.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead end-to-end implementation programmes across underwriting platforms, delegated authority, and operational system enhancements. You will work cross-functionally with Underwriting, Operations, IT, and external insurer partners to ensure new programmes, products, and system changes are delivered on time and to a high standard. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery, underwriting operations, and stakeholder management.
- Lead programme teams to deliver successful underwriting and system implementations on time and to quality standards.
- Own and manage detailed project plans, proactively communicating status, risks, and dependencies to internal teams and insurer partners.
- Define and track key performance and quality indicators across implementation and operational delivery.
- Partner with Underwriting, Operations, and IT to support system configuration, testing, and rollout (including rating, quoting, bordereaux reporting, and portfolio tracking).
- Drive process improvements across teams, including automation to reduce manual underwriting and reporting efforts.
- Ensure smooth coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
6+ years’ experience in technical programme management, systems implementation, underwriting operations, or insurance delivery roles.
Experience overseeing policy administration systems, rating platforms, or underwriting workflows.
Proven ability to manage complex projects involving insurers, brokers, and internal teams.
Working knowledge of JavaScript and SQL preferred.
Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience) advantageous.
