A leading and highly respected international insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Placing Broker to join its Energy Business Lines team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a broker with strong Lloyd’s and international market relationships who is looking to take on a key role within an established and growing energy practice.
The Role
As a Placing Broker, you will be responsible for the effective placement and management of a portfolio of complex energy risks across the London and international insurance markets.
Working closely with producing brokers, clients and underwriters, you will develop and execute effective placement strategies, negotiate terms and ensure that client requirements are delivered to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include
- Placing energy risks across the Lloyd’s and international markets.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with underwriters and insurance markets.
- Negotiating premiums, terms, conditions and coverage on behalf of clients.
- Working closely with producing brokers to understand client requirements and develop appropriate market strategies.
- Managing the end-to-end placement process, from initial submission through to binding.
- Preparing high-quality market presentations and submissions.
- Providing insight into market conditions, capacity and emerging trends.
- Supporting the development and growth of the Energy Business Lines portfolio.
- Ensuring placements are handled accurately, efficiently and in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
About You
We are looking for an experienced insurance professional with a strong understanding of the Energy insurance market and a proven track record in broking or placing complex commercial risks.
You will ideally have
- Proven experience as a Placing Broker, Broker or Market Broker within Energy.
- Strong knowledge of the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets.
- Established relationships with Energy underwriters and markets.
- Experience handling complex and/or international energy risks.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple placements and competing priorities.
- A commercial and client-focused approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The confidence to operate independently while working collaboratively within a broader broking team.
