Location: Remote (UK Based)

Our global insurance client is seeking a Global Director of Enterprise Platform Architecture. You will lead and oversee the architecture, roadmap, engineering, and ongoing support of a robust integration platform that links essential systems and processes throughout the business.

Skills required:

  • Extensive experience leading platform architecture, roadmap development, and engineering efforts in hybrid cloud environments
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure - Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid
  • Strong proficiency in .NET, C#, and various database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Cosmos DB, or other relational/NoSQL databases)
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
  • Practical experience with observability and monitoring tools like Azure Application Insights
  • Proven track record in defining, implementing, and enforcing standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams of engineers and support staff
  • In-depth understanding of integration technologies, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture
  • Previous experience managing data residency and regulatory requirements, with a focus on regional platform deployment when applicable
  • Beneficial to have experience with AWS best practices for cloud environments
  • Beneficial to have experience with DevOps, including automation and CI/CD pipelines
  • Beneficial to understand security practices (HIPAA, GDPR)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the implementation of the platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and performs efficiently across hybrid cloud environments (Azure and AWS)
  • Use hands-on experience to architect and develop key platform features with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, .NET, and C#
  • Develop and execute the architecture and roadmap for the global integration platform, ensuring it aligns with business goals and remains scalable to accommodate future growth
  • Address data residency requirements by enabling regional deployments of the platform to meet local regulatory compliance
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team of engineers and support professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain integrations with a variety of database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the platform delivers tangible value
  • Act as a hands-on leader, contributing to code, design reviews, and architectural decisions while guiding the team
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards, focusing particularly on global data residency requirements
