Albert's Worsley, best known for its restaurant, bar and function rooms, is on the hunt for a highly motivated and experienced Head Chef who wants a new and exciting challenge.
This role is overall responsibility for the Worsley kitchen and team including main line, prep and functions. This is a fully operational role, not admin based, so applicants must be ready for getting stuck in.
What are we looking for?
- Someone to lead and manage the kitchen team of approximately 12 staff including senior chefs, chefs and kitchen porters
- Oversee daily operations
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, compliance, kitchen organisation and cleanliness
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Encourage creativity and skill development within the team
- Maintain consistent and high-quality food standards
- Conduct regular tastings and assessments to ensure that all dishes meet our restaurant's high standards
- Work with management to establish and manage kitchen budgets, control costs, and maximise profitability
What experience do you need?
- Great leadership qualities
- Proven experience of training & development of staff
- Head chef for minimum of 2 years in a high volume kitchen that preps and serves fresh, high quality food
- Experience leading a large team including senior chefs
- Full understanding of compliance and EHO requirements
- Great admin & budgeting skills such as with paperwork, stocks, rotas and ordering
