Alberti is a women-led, fully digital practice in Dundee, working only with limited companies across all sorts of industries, so no two weeks ever look the same. We're paperless, we've built AI into how we genuinely work, and we're growing fast. We're after an Accounts Manager who wants to help lead that — to take real ownership and leave their mark on a firm that's still being shaped, not slot into one that's set in stone.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and reviewing the bookkeeping team's work — VAT returns, bank reconciliations, ledgers — and setting the standard for everything that leaves the firm
  • Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, ready for filing
  • Producing management accounts clients genuinely use to run their businesses, with the commentary to back them up
  • Reviewing and supporting on corporation tax computations and returns
  • Owning a portfolio of client relationships and becoming the person they call first
  • Coaching and developing the bookkeeping team as we grow
  • Helping us sharpen how the whole practice runs — AI and automation included

What you’ll bring (essential)

  • At least 3 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice (not solely industry)
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience with an equivalent practice background — we back capability over letters
  • A solid grounding in preparing and reviewing limited company accounts under FRS 105 / FRS 102
  • Confident with VAT returns and comfortable with the fundamentals of corporation tax
  • Hands-on experience producing management accounts
  • Strong cloud software skills — ideally Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent
  • Experience reviewing others' work and/or mentoring more junior team members
  • The communication skills to own client relationships and explain the numbers to non-accountants
  • Experience in a digital-first or cloud-only practice
  • Any exposure to using AI or automation in accounting workflows
  • A genuine curiosity about where the profession is heading
