Are you looking for an opportunity to become part of a supportive work environment that feels like family? The Northeast Community Health Centre (NECHC) Emergency Department (ED) is a small but mighty 24/7 standalone ED in the Edmonton Zone. Located in the Northeast sector of Edmonton with access to major access routes and transit, the NECHC ED serves a community with a diverse socio-economic spectrum and multicultural backgrounds. We are a multidisciplinary team of Trauma trained Physicians, NPs, RNs, LPNs, Ortho Techs, and Resp Therapists. We are supported on site by our partners in Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray and Ultrasound), Protective Services, and a variety of ambulatory and community health programs onsite to support the continuity of care for our community.

As an Emergency Department RN, you will report to the ED Manager in a fast-paced environment that will challenge the ability to balance varying patient acuity levels and priorities. In collaboration with the interprofessional team, you will have the opportunity to impact a department's efficient process in patient flow while supporting the optimal outcomes for our patient population. The RN in the ED requires strong communication skills, ability to manage and adapt to challenging situations, and the physical stamina to tolerate extended periods of time standing or sitting, and patient and material handling. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

The shift hours for this position are: 07:30 – 19:45 and 19:30 – 07:45.
