We are recruiting for a qualified accountant to join the Outsourced Finance department in our Taunton or Yeovil office as a Manager. This is a client-facing, technically focused role within a growing and advisory-led team. The successful candidate will work closely with business owners and management teams, helping them understand their financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement and make informed commercial decisions.
Alongside reviewing management accounts and supporting complex VAT matters, the role will play an important part in the continued development of our advisory services, including budgeting, forecasting, financial control support and the future growth of our fractional Finance Director offering. You will manage client relationships, attend client meetings and work alongside colleagues across Albert Goodman to identify opportunities where Outsourced Finance can add value. The role will be actively involved in business development, networking and service development, helping to raise the profile of the department both internally and externally.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong technical expertise with commercial thinking and relationship building. While this role does not involve the preparation of year-end accounts, a strong technical background is essential to maintain high standards, support colleagues and ensure work is robust and consistent.
What we need from you
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified
- Have post-qualification experience within a practice environment
- Have exposure to a broad client base including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Possess strong technical knowledge, including FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
- Have strong knowledge of VAT and experience dealing with more complex VAT matters
- Have a genuine interest in management accounting, financial analysis and advisory services
- Have experience preparing or reviewing budgets, forecasts and cashflow reporting
- Be confident presenting information to clients and explaining financial information clearly
- Be commercially minded, proactive and comfortable building trusted client relationships
- Enjoy networking, business development and identifying opportunities to grow services
- Demonstrate excellent people skills and a strong commitment to outstanding client service
