The Platform

Our client is a privately held investment banking platform with a differentiated model at the intersection of strategic advisory and principal investing. With a reputation for precision execution and deep sector fluency, the firm partners with founders, corporates, and financial sponsors on complex mid-to-large cap transactions across the industrial and sustainability value chains. The business operates with institutional discipline and entrepreneurial intensity, offering bespoke solutions across M&A, structured capital, and strategic repositioning mandates.

The Mandate

We are seeking a Senior Vice President to join the firm’s execution leadership team, acting as a senior point of delivery across high-impact mandates. Reporting to the Director and Partners, the role encompasses full ownership of transaction workstreams, from origination support and structuring through to execution and closure. The position demands a rare combination of analytical sharpness, client-facing credibility, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a critical force in upholding execution standards, coaching junior talent, and reinforcing the firm’s positioning as a trusted advisor across evolving industrial and sustainability-linked themes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Transaction Leadership: Drive the execution of live mandates across M&A, private capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements—owning all phases from kick-off to signing and post-deal positioning. Act as day-to-day lead on client relationships, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure pace, precision, and alignment throughout the process.
  • Advanced Financial Modelling & Valuation: Build and pressure-test complex models across LBO, DCF, merger, and multi-scenario frameworks to drive investor engagement and support negotiation strategies. Translate analytical outputs into commercially relevant insights for senior decision-makers.
  • Strategic Materials & Positioning: Develop high-impact investor materials—including confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and board-level updates—that communicate strategic intent with clarity and conviction. Partner with clients on narrative refinement and market positioning to maximise competitive tension.
  • Stakeholder Orchestration: Navigate a complex web of counterparties—legal counsel, consultants, diligence providers, client stakeholders—to ensure delivery against timelines and transaction goals. Serve as the firm’s ambassador in all external interactions, ensuring consistency of tone, professionalism, and message control.
  • Market Mapping & Deal Structuring: Drive sector intelligence and buyer/investor mapping efforts; bring a structured lens to market dynamics and white space analysis to enhance execution and origination quality. Proactively identify structuring options and tactical levers to optimise deal outcomes. Set the bar on work quality and professional conduct; mentor Analysts and Associates through structured coaching, rigorous feedback, and real-time problem-solving. Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, process refinement, and institutional best practices.

Candidate Credentials

  • Execution Depth: Demonstrable track record of managing full transaction cycles across M&A or capital raising environments, ideally within the industrials, infrastructure, or sustainability-adjacent sectors. Exceptional technical ability across core valuation frameworks; confident handling complex, dynamic models under tight timelines.
  • Client Presence: Gravitas and polish in client-facing settings; able to engage credibly with C-suite executives, investment committees, and founder-led businesses.
  • Strategic Perspective: Brings structured thinking to ambiguous challenges; able to translate macro themes into micro execution tactics.
  • Detail Orientation & Output Ownership: Obsessive about quality and precision—sets high standards for written and quantitative deliverables, and takes personal accountability for every output.
  • Leadership Maturity: Balances high individual throughput with team stewardship; fosters cohesion and upskills junior talent without compromising on delivery pace.

7–10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, principal investing, or private capital advisory. Prior exposure to industrials, sustainability-linked sectors, or infrastructure-adjacent verticals preferred. Fluency in English required; additional European languages advantageous.
