The Role

An experienced Senior Java Engineer is sought to develop APIs and integrate with Temenos / T24 banking systems. This role requires expertise in backend development, high-performance systems, and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will work on scalable banking solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance platform functionality, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Implement and optimise core banking features.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of financial systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud-based services (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Work closely with product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in API development.
• Strong background in Temenos / T24 transaction processing.
• Expertise in relational (Microsoft SQL) or non-relational (Jbase) databases.
• Experience in production support environments.
• Solid understanding of test frameworks and software quality practices.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Knowledge of security best practices in financial systems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in the fintech or banking industry.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
