Quant Trader – Prediction Markets| London, UK | £80-£100K base + Longer term upside
We are working with a fast-growing, engineering-led trading business building within the emerging prediction markets space. They are looking to add Quant Traders to a highly technical team in London.
This isn't a traditional Quant Research position and you won't be expected to arrive with a ready-made strategy. The role sits much closer to live trading: operating systematic strategies, understanding pricing, monitoring performance and making good risk decisions as markets move.
The Role
You'll sit directly alongside the engineering and trading team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of live trading systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating and monitoring live systematic trading strategies across prediction markets.
- Managing live positions, exposures and trading risk.
- Identifying pricing inefficiencies and understanding when and why markets are moving.
- Triaging issues within live trading systems and making informed decisions when intervention is required.
- Working closely with engineers to improve trading infrastructure, monitoring and execution.
- Analysing trading performance and identifying opportunities to improve how existing strategies are deployed.
- Taking increasing ownership of trading and risk as the business and its market coverage grow.
What They're Looking For
The priority is raw ability rather than previous prediction markets experience.
You'll ideally have:
- A strong mathematical and technical foundation, typically across mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, engineering or a similarly quantitative discipline.
- Experience within quantitative trading, electronic trading, market making, HFT or another highly technical trading environment.
- Strong understanding of risk, pricing and market behaviour.
- Enough engineering ability to understand how automated trading systems work and confidently operate alongside developers.
- Strong judgement and the ability to make decisions around live risk rather than purely conducting offline research.
- A high level of ownership, curiosity and willingness to work within a small, fast-moving team.
Strong graduates will also be considered, particularly those with relevant quantitative trading, HFT, market-making or engineering internships.
Previous experience trading prediction markets or sports is not required.
What This Isn't
This isn't a pure Quant Research role where you'll spend the majority of your time researching signals or developing standalone alpha.
Equally, the business isn't looking for someone to bring across a personal Polymarket or crypto strategy.
They're looking for technically strong traders who can understand sophisticated automated strategies, operate them effectively and manage live risk.
Working Pattern & Progression
The initial requirement will include Friday–Monday trading coverage as the business expands its trading operation. This isn't intended to be a permanent weekend position.
The expectation is that after approximately 9–12 months, you'll progress into a broader role within the trading organisation as the team continues to grow.
For the right person, this offers an opportunity to join an early-stage trading team, take meaningful responsibility quickly and build experience in one of the fastest-developing areas of electronic trading.
If this sounds like you, please apply here!
Thanks
Archie
