I’m currently partnered with a confidential client on a genuinely high-impact AWS transformation project and looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a secure, highly available, enterprise-grade cloud environment. This is the type of role where you won’t just be maintaining infrastructure — you’ll be shaping critical cloud strategy across disaster recovery, failover, security hardening, IAM, monitoring, and network architecture. The environment is complex, hands-on, and technically mature. They need someone who can come in, take ownership, challenge existing approaches, and build resilient infrastructure properly.

You’ll be working across:

  • AWS backup & replication strategy
  • Multi-AZ high availability architecture
  • Disaster recovery planning & failover design
  • AWS Network Firewall & WAF implementation
  • IAM hardening, RBAC & Secrets Management
  • Monitoring, observability & audit logging
  • Infrastructure-as-Code & automation
  • Security boundary design & cloud governance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement highly available AWS infrastructure across multiple AZs
  • Configure EC2, EBS, and database backup/recovery strategies
  • Implement automated failover and manual DR recovery processes
  • Define RTO/RPO targets and validate recovery testing
  • Deploy and harden AWS WAF, Network Firewall, Security Groups & NACLs
  • Improve IAM posture, MFA enforcement, and least-privilege access models
  • Configure CloudWatch, CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, alerting & dashboards
  • Deliver repeatable deployments via Terraform, CloudFormation, or scripting
  • Produce architecture documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures

Tech Stack:

  • AWS
  • EC2
  • EBS
  • RDS
  • CloudWatch
  • CloudTrail
  • VPC Flow Logs
  • AWS WAF
  • AWS Network Firewall
  • IAM
  • Secrets Manager
  • ELB
  • Auto Scaling
  • Terraform
  • CloudFormation

What makes this opportunity stand out:

  • End-to-end ownership across infrastructure, resilience, and security
  • Broad exposure across cloud engineering, networking, IAM, DR, and platform architecture
  • Business-critical transformation work with real visibility and impact
  • Opportunity to influence technical direction and best practices
  • Highly collaborative engineering environment
  • Complex, architecture-led challenges rather than repetitive BAU support work
  • Strong long-term project roadmap with meaningful engineering investment

If you’re an AWS engineer who enjoys solving complex platform and security challenges while having genuine influence over architecture and resilience strategy, I’d love to speak with you.
