Your main accountabilities will be to:

  • Efficiently operate mechanical handling equipment to the required standards following training.
  • Support achievement of the required product throughput to meet production plans.
  • Carry out all duties in line with food legislation, BRC and customer food safety requirements.
  • Raise mechanical handling equipment inefficiencies and faults with the relevant Managers or department.
  • Maintain all machinery to a level commensurate with their role.
  • Assist with providing materials for product changeovers to the required standards and timescales.
  • Maintain all stores in a clean and hygienic manner, including any ice or snow in the cold store.
  • Accurate completion of all documentation required for out loads to ensure product is traceable and quality standards have been maintained.
  • Take part if required in Daily reviews at performance boards and ownership of efficiency issues.
  • Identification of sub-standard stock is met at all times.
  • Ensure that all required stock is available for the production team at the correct quantity at the correct time.

Hours: 2 week rotating pattern Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 7am to 7pm week 1 and 7pm to 7am week 2 - 45 hours per week. £13.65 per hour plus a 50p per hour uplift when working nights.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Mechanical handling equipment qualifications (FLT, ride on barrows, pedestrian pallet trucks).
  • Numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Basic IT Skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
