Albert Bartlett, a leader in the UK potato industry since 1948, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Engineer to join our dedicated team at our state-of-the-art facilities. As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our refrigeration systems, which are vital for ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and freshness. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that our refrigeration systems operate efficiently and safely, supporting our mission to provide top-quality fresh and frozen potato products. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems and equipment across our production facilities.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues related to refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and refrigerant usage.
  • Collaborate with other engineering and production teams to ensure reliable operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives to stay updated on new technologies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Refrigeration Engineer with working knowledge of ammonia two-stage systems, compressors, cooling towers, intercoolers, surge drums, and ammonia pumps.
  • Currently using Grasso, BAC, Evapco equipment.
  • Ammonia Handling certificate.
  • Knowledge of blast freezers Eurotek and Starfrost plus Coldstore systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a FMCG environment.
  • Working knowledge of complex refrigeration systems both mechanically & electrically.
  • Effluent treatment and steam generation experience.
  • Forklift Truck Licence.
