As Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in shaping a safe, compliant, and positive working environment across operational and agricultural settings. You will work closely with site teams to strengthen health and safety practice, support continuous improvement, and help ensure high standards are maintained across day‑to‑day operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead health and safety management and compliance across two packing sites and farm operations.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety systems, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and reviews to identify improvements and ensure follow‑up actions.
  • Provide practical guidance to operational teams on risks related to machinery, manual handling, vehicle movements, contractors, farm activity, and general site operations.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to support a safe, compliant, and positive working environment.

Experience:

  • Experience in a Health & Safety leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application across multi‑site operations.
  • Experience supporting both site‑based and farm‑based activities, with a clear understanding of the different risk profiles involved.
  • Background in food packing, manufacturing, fresh produce, agriculture, or a similar operational environment.
  • Hands‑on experience applying risk assessments, incident investigations, audit programmes, and safe systems of work.
  • A recognised health and safety qualification such as a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.
  • Eligibility to work in the relevant legal jurisdiction for Jersey, and residency in Jersey.
  • IOSH membership is desirable.
