As a Handyman/Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repairs, maintenance and improvements tasks in a family run food manufacturing factory. This role requires practical skills, problem solving ability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to keep facilities safe, functional, and well maintained.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring etc
- Inspect buildings and equipment to identify issues needing repair
- Install fixtures, appliances, doors, windows and cabinetry
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in good condition
- Follow Safety procedures and training updates SOP
- Keep records of work completed and materials used
- Coordinate with Site Supervisor and other external contractors
- Indoor & Outdoor work settings
Essential skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Good physical condition ability to lift heavy objects
- Time management and organizational skills
- Good communicator good team player
- Valid driving license
Desirable
- Trade Certification either WRAS/BTEC/Cabinet/Carpenter/Basic Safe Electrical cert
- Previous experience in property maintenance or facilities management
- Basic Health & Safety certification
