The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in Boston.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental standards across our Boston operations.
Working across two nearby sites, you will help drive a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation and company standards, and support colleagues at all levels to maintain safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and safety tours.
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the development and review of health and safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, determining root causes and recommending improvements.
- Assist with risk assessments and implementation of control measures.
- Support delivery of health and safety training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Produce HSE reports and analyse trends to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings and support site-wide initiatives.
- Work alongside operational teams to promote a strong safety culture.
- Support environmental and energy management programmes, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have
- Previous experience within a Health & Safety role in manufacturing, food production, warehousing or a similar environment.
- A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate.
- A strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
