As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Materials Intake Manager to oversee the intake of all raw materials and ensure they meet our quality and operational standards.
The MI Manager is responsible for leading and managing all inbound warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, checked, recorded, and stored efficiently and accurately. This role oversees the receipt and inspection of deliveries, maintains high stock accuracy, and ensures compliance with company standards, supplier agreements, and health & safety requirements. The Goods-In Manager leads a team to deliver excellent operational performance, supports continuous process improvements, and works closely with suppliers, procurement, and warehouse teams to keep the supply chain running smoothly.
In this pivotal role, you will manage the materials intake process, working closely with suppliers, production teams, and quality assurance to ensure a seamless flow of high-quality materials into our facilities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to quality and efficiency while optimising intake processes to enhance performance. Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the intake of materials, ensuring timely inspections and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues related to material quality and compliance.
- Manage and train a team of intake operatives to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the intake process.
- Establish and implement intake procedures, policies, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage of materials to maintain quality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of materials and intake processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on materials intake metrics and quality performance to senior management.
- Proven experience in materials management or supply chain roles, preferably within Incoming Goods/Warehouse - Food industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and relevant safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
- Counter balance Forklift licence.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
