Albert Bartlett, a leading name in the potato industry, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. As a Financial Accountant at Albert Bartlett, you will work closely with the accounting team to maintain financial controls, handle month-end and year-end close processes, and assist in various reporting activities that contribute to the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process journals, accruals, and prepayments as required.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Work with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Provide support during external audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or part-qualified.
  • Min 2 years of experience in a financial accounting role in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working well within a team and with other departments.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team-oriented environment.
