Department/Unit: Operating Room Work Shift: Evening (United States of America) Salary Range: $46,220.72 – $64,709.01 Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the surgical team. They work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensure a safe operating room environment, proper functioning of equipment, and patient safety. The surgical technologist handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures. They understand the procedure, anticipate the surgeon\’s needs, and maintain the sterile field. They can function independently in the scrub role and as a circulator under RN supervision. This role may require on-call duties and rotating shifts. Responsibilities include maintaining the sterile field, preparing operating rooms, assisting with patient positioning, inspecting sterile items, and performing accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts following policies and procedures.
