Responsibilities
The pre-transplant coordinator works with the transplant team to manage patients that are active and active on hold on the transplantation list. This individual attends transplant committees, QITs, and partakes in the Transplant clinic. The pre-coordinator schedules testing, labs, and procedures that are necessary for the care of potential transplant recipients. The coordinator fields phone calls from patients, MD offices, etc., to manage the patients' care. The coordinator will also be maintaining and enforcing the regulations set forth by the regulatory bodies of UNOS, OPTN, CMS, Joint Commission of Accreditation, NYS DOH, and the like.
Qualifications
Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
