Responsibilities:
- Capture demographic and insurance information by telephone or patient‑facing interactions.
- Use the eligibility application to check insurance eligibility, interpret responses, and record corresponding health insurance information relevant to services rendered.
- Apply contractual benefits and engage patients in financial discussions regarding payment responsibility.
- Collect financial responsibility from patients based on eligibility response or service estimates.
- Maintain accurate encounter corrections in the ADT system.
- Escalate issues as needed while remaining composed under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred.
- CHAA licensure (or obtained within 2 years of hire).
- Strong computer skills.
- 3–5 years experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting.
- In‑depth insurance knowledge: payer contract interpretation, authorization requirements, setting of care.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to exceed expectations.
- Ability to multi‑task in a high‑volume, high‑pressure environment.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent judgment and resourcefulness.
- Team‑oriented work ethic.
- Strong communication skills for discussing sensitive financial topics with patients.
