Salary Range: $40,310.00 - $52,403.00

Responsibilities:

  • Record electrocardiograms (EKGs) of customers ranging in age from newborn to geriatric.
  • Download EKGs from cart to the MUSE EKG Computer System.
  • Deliver cardiac rhythm strips from the telemetry station to various nursing units and post these strips in specified unit locations.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to cardiac monitoring, including troubleshooting telemetry transmitter packs (e.g., replacing worn electrodes, changing batteries, changing wires).
  • Assist in the search and retrieval of misplaced telemetry transmitter packs and cardiac pacemakers.
  • Educate various disciplines in EKG technique.
  • Utilize patient identifiers, place telemetry transmitter packs, and verify signal with monitor technician communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Heart Saver (CPR) certification.
  • Some patient contact preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Speak, read, and write in English; read documents such as requisitions and document on established forms; communicate cooperatively and effectively to clients, including children.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct as defined by AMC, including confidentiality/privacy (HIPAA).
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
