The Staff Accountant position supports procedures and objectives in international financial accounting where goals are to provide timely and accurate financial information to internal and external users, while maintaining internal controls over financial processes. Works with other departments, including FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and HR to gather information necessary for accurate accounting.
The Staff Accountant performs AR cash application and has the responsibility for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and various administration processes within the accounting group. Works in groups with other financial members under immediate supervision of US Accounting Manager.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for:
- Perform ERP accounting work in SAP related to incoming customer cash application
- Prepare and enter standard accruals and other necessary journal entries
- Establish communications to reconcile intra-entity transactions
- Manage intercompany ledgers and recharges
- Accounting of bank account direct debits and perform external banking transaction downloads within SAP
- Prepare necessary reconciliations, including researching and working with finance and other team members to update account balances
- Work closely with Treasury and post intercompany cash transactions
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes according to GAAP
- Administration of travel and purchasing credit cards for employees
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Participate in special projects as requested
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with minimum 2 years of related work experience
- Solid understanding of general accounting
- Excellent ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, heavily automated environment
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills must be strong
- MS Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Word
- SAP experience a plus
