B2B SaaS / Platform & API Product
£90k–£120k + Equity
Albany Growth is partnering with a high-growth B2B SaaS company providing critical infrastructure to tens of thousands of businesses worldwide. Our client is scaling their product function following a significant investment and hiring a Lead Product Manager working alongside the co-founder & CPO. No PM ladder above you, genuine ownership and scope from day one, with a clear path to become CPO.
The Role
Shipping isn’t the constraint. Direction is. You will own the “why”, the business case, success metrics, discovery, adoption, and commercial impact of what gets built. You’ll work as part of a tight “product trinity” alongside the VP Engineering and Lead Product Designer, where the big strategic decisions are made together. Marketing and Sales are true partners, not stakeholders briefed at the end of a cycle. Most of your impact will come from alignment that runs sideways across the organisation.
What the Work Looks Like
This is a true horizontal infrastructure product, the same core platform powers many different use cases across multiple verticals. This product solves problems for both users and businesses. The craft lies in pattern recognition: getting close to customers, deeply understanding their needs, and distilling them into scalable capabilities that serve both current users and future ones. You will scope ideas with distribution and go-to-market in mind from day one and prototype early with the trinity rather than writing detailed specs.
What We’re Looking For
- Several years’ experience as a Senior or Lead Product Manager at a B2B software company (platform or API-shaped product experience is ideal)
- Real experience working closely with customers across multiple verticals, with strong judgement on when a request is a scalable capability versus a feature trap
- Sharp instinct for marketability, distribution, user friction, and commercial outcomes
- Comfort operating in a data-informed and data-driven environment
- Ability to work effectively alongside strong engineers who take real product responsibility
- Technical credibility is important, but this is not a technical role (if you default to writing API specs for engineers, this isn’t the right fit)
The Culture
You’ll report to a technical, direct, and action-oriented co-founder. Feedback is candid and nothing is buffered. The right person finds this energising, you treat directness as useful information, not a personal attack, and you can change your mind quickly when wrong while holding your position when right. The company has a high-velocity engineering culture (60+ releases per week) and a strict no-known-bugs policy.
