Head of Delivery
Location: Hybrid (2 days in Sheffield)
Our PE backed client is building a health tech platform that is changing the way that we receive treatment. They are searching for a Head of Delivery to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple technology-driven projects. As a Head of Delivery, you will ensure that our innovative digital health solutions are implemented effectively, aligning with business priorities and driving continuous improvement. The Head of Delivery will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role plays a key part in enhancing the reach and impact of our technology, supporting our mission to make healthcare more accessible and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning and Development:
- Define and manage the intake process for the Technology function, ensuring new requests align with business priorities.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and roadmaps that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with programme activities.
- Mobilise delivery teams, overseeing initial scoping, planning, and full project lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to optimise resources and objectives.
- Support engineering teams in prioritising and executing tasks throughout the software development lifecycle.
Project Implementation:
- Lead the execution of technology-driven initiatives, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Define and support post-implementation processes to ensure smooth transitions into business-as-usual operations.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Track and report financial performance, addressing variances proactively.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement mechanisms to track and assess programme impact and effectiveness.
- Collect and analyse data to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership:

Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and manage Product Owners/Business Analysts to:
- Maintain and prioritise product backlogs effectively.
- Analyse business processes to drive improvements.
- Align engineering deliverables with business objectives.
- Develop OKRs and track performance outcomes.
- Work closely with technology teams to:
- Define and align goals with strategic priorities.
- Ensure effective change and release management processes.
- Leverage Agile methodologies to optimise efficiency.
- Identify and remove delivery impediments proactively.
- Balance business needs with technical debt considerations.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Program, Project, or Agile Delivery Management qualification and/or a proven track record in delivering technology projects.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in programme and Agile delivery management, preferably in health technology, healthcare, or public health sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities.
- Experience working in a scaling organisation undergoing transformation.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to consolidate diverse viewpoints into a cohesive delivery approach.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
