Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a strategic cloud migration programme within a leading London Market Insurance organisation. This is a high-profile transformation initiative focused on migrating critical infrastructure, applications, and services from legacy data centre environments into Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end delivery, working across technology, infrastructure, security, operations, and business teams to ensure successful migration and adoption. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale cloud migration programmes and will be comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments. Experience within the London Market Insurance sector is highly desirable, although broader insurance industry experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a strategic cloud migration programme.
- Develop and manage project plans, delivery roadmaps, milestones, and implementation schedules.
- Ensure programme objectives are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with business expectations.
- Manage project governance, reporting, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment between technical and business teams.
- Oversee the migration journey from on-premise data centre environments into Microsoft Azure.
- Coordinate activities across infrastructure, applications, networks, security, and operational teams.
- Ensure migration activities are planned, tested, and executed effectively with minimal business disruption.
- Manage cutover, transition, and business readiness activities throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Monitor programme progress and proactively address delivery challenges and risks.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Security, Architecture, and Business functions.
- Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and programme workshops.
- Communicate project status, key decisions, risks, and delivery progress to senior leadership.
- Work closely with third-party vendors, implementation partners, and internal delivery teams.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the migration programme.
- Identify and manage programme risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Ensure appropriate governance and control frameworks are maintained throughout delivery.
- Support change management and business readiness activities to ensure successful adoption.
- Drive resolution of delivery blockers and escalate where appropriate.
- Ensure documentation and reporting meet organisational standards and governance requirements.
