This is a senior, highly visible role requiring someone with excellent relationship management and communication skills, combined with a strong understanding of the Lloyd’s and wider London Insurance Market. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the programme’s engagement strategy, ensuring stakeholders understand the proposed changes, gathering feedback and concerns, and maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout delivery. Given the nature of the programme, the role requires strong judgement, diplomacy and the confidence to navigate complex stakeholder relationships while handling sensitive information appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the programme’s stakeholder engagement strategy and plans.
  • Identify and map key stakeholder groups across Lloyd’s, market participants and relevant associations.
  • Build strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the programme and its wider stakeholder community.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, forums and engagement sessions.
  • Identify stakeholder concerns, dependencies and areas of resistance and ensure these are effectively managed.
  • Support stakeholder impact assessments and readiness activities.
  • Develop clear and engaging programme communications for a range of audiences.
  • Produce briefing packs, presentations, stakeholder updates and senior leadership materials.
  • Translate complex business and technology change into clear and accessible messaging.
  • Ensure communications remain consistent across programme workstreams and stakeholder groups.
  • Manage the timing and sequencing of communications in line with programme milestones.
  • Ensure sensitive or confidential information is communicated appropriately.
  • Work closely with Programme Managers, Change Leads and delivery teams to understand upcoming changes and stakeholder impacts.
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement activities remain aligned with the wider programme plan.
  • Support governance forums through the preparation of engagement and communications materials.
  • Monitor stakeholder sentiment and provide feedback to programme leadership.
  • Maintain visibility of engagement activities, risks, actions and outcomes.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders on engagement progress and effectiveness.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience within stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, change management or programme communications.
  • Strong demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Lloyd’s Insurance Market.
  • Understanding of the structure of the London Market and its key participants and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience developing and executing stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex networks of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience producing executive-level materials.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience engaging credibly with senior executives and external organisations.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building capability.
  • Experience supporting significant business, technology or transformation programmes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-moving programme environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Existing knowledge of Lloyd’s market associations, representative bodies and stakeholder groups.
  • Broader London Market Insurance experience.
  • Experience working with insurers, managing agents, brokers or other market participants.
  • Experience supporting market-wide or multi-organisation transformation initiatives.
  • Financial Services or other regulated industry experience.
  • Experience supporting stakeholder impact and business readiness assessments.
  • Familiarity with formal change management or stakeholder engagement methodologies.
  • Experience working on technology-enabled business transformation programmes.

Personal Attributes

  • Diplomatic and politically astute, with excellent judgement.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Confident operating with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Able to build credibility and trusted relationships quickly.
  • Comfortable navigating complex organisational and market dynamics.
  • Discreet and experienced in handling sensitive and confidential information.
