Albany Beck are hiring a Full stack Engineer to support a Microservices & Cloud programme with a global investment bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Be hands-on, writing and delivering code into production, while contributing to the overall architecture and design of a microservices-based system.
- Understand business needs alongside engineering and non-functional requirements to help support ongoing growth.
- Help drive and reinforce the engineering culture across teams.
- Work closely with a globally distributed team, coordinating work across regions when needed.
- Proactively identify and remove blockers, highlight risks early, and communicate issues to programme management.
- Spot inefficiencies in existing processes and find practical, scalable ways to improve them.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Solid experience as a software engineer, with a strong background in designing, building, and deploying backend services.
- Experience working in a microservices environment and delivering production-ready code.
- Comfortable releasing changes to production frequently.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying RESTful APIs.
- Experience designing database schemas and working with PostgreSQL.
Nice to Have
- Java experience, ideally with recent versions.
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with GCP is a plus.
- Experience building UI applications using React.
- Previous experience working in financial services, particularly banking.
