Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong insurance background to join our delivery teams in London. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business, technology, and agile delivery, and who can act as a proxy Product Owner / Product Manager within complex insurance domains.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery squads, and technical teams to translate insurance requirements into clear, prioritised product backlogs, ensuring the delivery of high-value outcomes aligned to business objectives.
Responsibilities- Act as the Product Owner for one or more insurance domain areas, representing business needs within agile product squads.
- Serve as a proxy for senior business stakeholders, owning and prioritising the product backlog to maximise value delivery.
- Translate insurance business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics.
- Drive agile delivery by actively participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across the business, balancing conflicting priorities and facilitating decision-making.
- Ensure alignment between business strategy, regulatory considerations, and technical delivery.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, testers, and delivery leads to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Continuously refine and improve ways of working within an agile product model.
- Strong insurance domain knowledge (e.g. policy administration, underwriting, claims, pricing, or regulatory processes) — this is essential.
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner, Systems Analyst, or Business Analyst within agile delivery environments.
- Solid understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum / product-centric delivery models) and product squad structures.
- Demonstrated ability to own and prioritise backlogs in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience navigating ambiguity and competing demands.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into actionable delivery requirements.
