Albany Beck are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join a leading specialty insurance organisation's Finance Product Team. This is a high-impact role supporting the full Finance product lifecycle, with a strong focus on Phinsys BAU (KTLO), continuous improvement, and tactical change delivery. You will work closely with Finance SMEs, Engineering, Data, Service Management, QA and Architecture teams to protect and enhance critical Finance processes including close, reconciliation and reporting.
While Phinsys experience within the Lloyd's Market is strongly preferred, we will also consider experienced Systems Analysts who have supported finance systems within the insurance sector and can quickly develop SME-level knowledge.
The Role
- Monitor Phinsys during quarterly close cycles and investigate failures.
- Manage and resolve user queries and production issues.
- Maintain and enhance metadata configuration (mappings, posting rules, journal configuration).
- Analyse Finance data flows, integrations and dependencies to identify risks or control gaps.
- Use Azure DevOps and ServiceNow to manage incidents, backlog and change requests.
- Support requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment and documentation.
- Safeguard reconciliations, Finance controls and close accuracy.
Technical Oversight & Delivery
- Support environment management across DEV / SIT / UAT / LAT.
- Coordinate releases and ensure correct sequencing of changes.
- Drive standardisation and simplification of configuration.
- Maintain high-quality backlog management and clear acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to sprint ceremonies, refinement and release planning.
- Ensure robust testing evidence and audit traceability.
Transformation & Strategy
- Assess upstream and downstream impacts (mappings, posting rules, integrations).
- Provide analytical challenge and risk insight on proposed change.
- Champion product-centric, continuous improvement ways of working.
- Support the Finance product roadmap and strategy.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare detailed technical investigations for vendor support.
- Coordinate vendor releases, configuration updates and regression testing.
- Translate Finance requirements into structured system change items.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support training and knowledge-sharing across teams.
Risk & Performance Management
- Identify risks arising from system change or integration dependencies.
- Ensure mitigation plans and audit evidence are maintained.
- Track KPIs including incident volumes, close stability and change success rates.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls.
About You
- We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable working in regulated, audit-sensitive environments.
- Systems Analyst experience supporting Finance systems within insurance.
- Strong understanding of accounting flows, reconciliations and close processes.
- Strong SQL and database skills.
- Experience investigating complex system configurations and integrations.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to produce clear, high-impact documentation with minimal volume.
Desirable
- Proven experience with Phinsys, ideally within the Lloyd's Market.
