Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Senior PMO to support a strategic cloud transformation programme within a leading London Market Insurance organisation. This role will be responsible for overseeing programme governance, planning, reporting, controls, and delivery assurance across an enterprise-wide migration from on-premise data centre environments to Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale cloud migration initiatives and will play a key role in ensuring the end-to-end migration journey is effectively governed, coordinated, and delivered. This includes managing programme controls from data centre exit through to cloud adoption, ensuring alignment across technology, infrastructure, security, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders. Experience within the London Market Insurance sector would be highly advantageous. Candidates with broader Insurance industry experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage PMO governance frameworks across a large-scale cloud migration programme.
  • Drive programme planning, delivery tracking, milestone management, and executive reporting.
  • Support end-to-end delivery of the migration journey from on-premise data centres to Microsoft Azure.
  • Maintain programme roadmaps, RAID logs, dependencies, actions, and decision registers.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams including infrastructure, applications, networking, security, testing, and operational readiness.
  • Produce and present governance materials for steering committees, programme boards, and executive stakeholders.
  • Monitor programme health, identify delivery risks, and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
  • Track budget, resource allocation, forecasting, and programme financials.
  • Ensure programme controls and reporting standards are maintained throughout delivery.
  • Support cutover planning, transition activities, and business readiness initiatives.
  • Manage stakeholder communications across technology, operations, architecture, security, and business teams.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors, implementation partners, and delivery teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Drive consistency of delivery methodologies, governance processes, and programme reporting standards.

Required Experience

  • Extensive PMO experience supporting large-scale transformation or technology programmes.
  • Proven experience working on cloud migration initiatives, particularly Microsoft Azure programmes.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end cloud migration delivery, including data centre exits, infrastructure migrations, application migrations, and cloud adoption.
  • Experience managing programme governance, planning, reporting, risks, issues, dependencies, and financial controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across technical and business functions.
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments and regulated industries.
  • Advanced reporting and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior leadership and programme sponsors.

  • Broader Insurance industry experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide Azure migration programmes.
  • Experience with infrastructure transformation, cloud operating model implementation, or data centre decommissioning initiatives.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and systems integrators.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and programme management methodologies including PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or PPM frameworks.
