As a Procurement Assistant, you will join our clients procurement team and work closely with the Procurement Manager to support supplier management, contract governance, commercial negotiations, and procurement operations across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their procurement career. Operating within an FCA and PRA regulated environment, you will help ensure supplier engagements, contractual arrangements, and procurement activities align with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and commercial objectives.
What You'll Do
- Support the end-to-end management of supplier contract renewals, ensuring agreements are reviewed, negotiated, and renewed in a timely manner.
- Assist with reviewing supplier contracts, terms and conditions, and commercial agreements, working closely with Legal and key business stakeholders.
- Support supplier negotiations, preparing commercial analysis and helping secure improved pricing, contractual terms, and value from suppliers.
- Maintain procurement records, contract registers, renewal schedules, and supporting governance documentation.
- Support supplier onboarding, due diligence, and third-party risk management activities.
- Assist with monitoring supplier performance and maintaining positive supplier relationships across a diverse supplier portfolio.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to coordinate procurement activity and provide guidance on procurement processes.
- Support compliance with procurement policies, supplier governance standards, data protection requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, controls, and supplier governance frameworks.
What We Are Looking For
- Exposure to working within an FCA and PRA regulated environment.
- Exposure to supplier governance frameworks, contract management processes, and third-party risk management activities.
- Previous experience within procurement, supplier management, vendor management, commercial operations, or contract administration.
- Strong commercial awareness, with an interest in supplier negotiations, relationship management, contract management, and delivering value through commercial and procurement activities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, comfortable working with colleagues at all levels of the business and confident handling supplier relationships and discussions.
- Experience reviewing contracts, commercial agreements, or supplier documentation would be beneficial.
- Exposure to tender processes, including obtaining quotes and supporting Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Attention to detail when working with data, pricing information, and commercial analysis to support decision making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in pursuing or working towards Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualifications would be advantageous.
