About the Role
Albany Beck is supporting a leading insurance client undergoing a critical technology transformation. Weβre looking to engage an experienced IT Implementation Director to lead the implementation of a new Technology Service Partner, from initial vendor selection through to implementation, delivery, and legacy offboarding. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role that will work closely with senior stakeholders, but remain hands-on in driving outcomes, vendor performance and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end RFP/tender process to identify and select a new IT service provider.
- Manage the vendor selection, suitability assessments, and tailoring of the final solution to business needs.
- Oversee the transition plan including full offboarding and onboarding of the new provider.
- Serve as the key interface between vendors and the business, ensuring needs are met and risks are mitigated.
- Build and execute a realistic, phased implementation roadmap.
- Report into and support the internal leadership team, shielding them from vendor pressures while keeping delivery on track.
- Ensure the new partner is fit for purpose, aligned to service needs, and scalable.
- Understand and translate the services catalogue into technical and operational requirements.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Programme Director, Implementation Lead or Transformation Lead within complex IT transitions.
- Strong track record in running RFP/tender processes and managing vendor selection in a regulated or enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience delivering service provider transitions.
- Deep understanding of vendor management, service design and implementation planning.
- Background in financial services or insurance is highly desirable.
- Able to advise on team shape, delivery model and optimal delivery phasing.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused and confident pushing processes through in fast-moving environments.
